The objective after completing the assignment for the Art Journal spreads was to then work with an aesthetic that was the complete opposite. While the Art Journal is very strict in format, Speak Magazine breaks the rules at every opportunity: illegible type, odd color combinations, body copy at odd angles. Yet, there is an aesthetic that holds true to the style of Speak Magazine. It was my objective to mimic this style using the same copy as the Art Journal project, as well as the same imagery.
