This project tested our ability to design around an already set format, such as the Art Journal, while also considering the subject matter contained in the body copy. The text was Natalia Ilyan's Fabulous Us, which refers to the methods of communication creative types utilize when speaking to the laymen. I chose the imagery of vintage tooks to represent the various tools of communication one might use for each type of task, while also being considerate of the Art Journal's standard of formatting, as well as the overall aesthetic seen in each issue.
